Estate Planning. Estate planning is
helping a client plan for the disposition of the client's estate
to the persons the client wishes to benefit, at the time and in
the manner the client wishes, and with the least possible death
taxes and other death costs.
Planning for Incapacity. Planning for
incapacity includes helping a client plan for the management of
the client's assets and health care in the event the client
becomes incapacitated, and for the management of assets for, and
care of, minor children, incapacitated parents, or beneficiaries
with special needs.
Marital Agreements. The firm advises
clients about and prepares pre-nuptial agreements and
post-nuptial agreements.
Estate and Trust Administration. The
firm represents clients who act as an executor, estate
administrator, or trustee by advising the client about the
client's responsibilities, preparing court filings and tax
returns, and assisting the client with the administration and
distribution of the estate or trust.
Business Planning. The firm advises
clients concerning their businesses by:
Helping the client create and maintain a
business or investment entity, such as a corporation,
partnership, or limited liability company;
Helping the client buy or sell a
business;
If the business is a family business that
will be passed on to other family members, helping the
client develop and implement a plan to pass the business on
to the selected children or other family members; and
Helping the client develop and implement
a buy and sell agreement or other plan for the disposition
of the client's interest in the business at the client's
death, disability, or retirement.
Expert Witness. Both of the firm's
principals serve as expert witnesses in litigation involving
trusts and estates.
